Elderly Persons Social Isolation Fund

Round Two Coming 2018

In the autumn of 2016 we received an anonymous donation which we were asked to utilise: “to fund projects working with older people to reduce isolation and increase involvement in the community”.

The Trustees were delighted to accept these funds and have now awarded the first round entitled “Awareness” with an allocation of up to £40,000.

Age UK Loneliness & isolation Review

#iwill - Youth Social Action Fund

Round One

Big Lottery Fund and Department of Culture, Media & Sport are each investing £20 million seed funding over four years to create the #iwill fund. Wakefield Community Foundation have secured a portion of this for the district

The aim of this grant is to raise the level and quality of youth social action. Young people participating in social action have stronger personal networks and higher life satisfaction.

Social action involves activities such as campaigning and volunteering whilst developing the skills and knowledge of young people sought after by employers. The definition of young people is between 10 and 20, and up to 25 for disabled young people.

You can apply as a local organisation for awards of between £1,000 and £5,000.
