Give the Gift of Warmth

Fuel Poverty Campaign

In our local communities, there are many people like John, still living in fuel poverty. People who spend every hour in bed just to keep warm and families that have to choose between eating and heating.

Last year, thanks to the generosity of the public and local businesses, the Fuel Poverty campaign helped over 600 households. Following the continuing harsh effects of the Coronavirus pandemic, many more communities are likely to suffer the effects of fuel poverty, this winter.

Donating just £2 will ‘Give the Gift of Warmth’ and help families and the elderly keep warm for a day. Your support really does make a difference and if you donate online between 12pm on 1 December to 12pm on 8 December 2020, your donation will be doubled as part of the Big Give Christmas Challenge.

For the second year the Foundation has again been selected to take part in The Big Give Christmas Challenge. We are calling on our amazing supporters to help smash our £5,000 online target, which will be gratefully matched by The Julia and Hans Rausing Trust.

Our overall target is £20,000 and we’re off to a great start, thanks to pledges of support from our partners Wakefield District Housing and Wakefield Council and with sponsorship already confirmed from the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Route One Infrastructure. If you would like to join them, then please contact

Double your Donation between 1 – 8 December!

So don’t forget, to double your donation to the Give the Gift of Warmth campaign, please donate here from 12pm on 1 December until 12pm 8 December 2020. Please note, this link is only live between these dates.

If you cannot wait to pledge your support, then please donate here.

If you are a UK tax-payer, please don’t forget to tick the Gift Aid box when you donate, as your gift will be worth even more at no extra cost to you. For example, a donation of £10 during the Big Give Christmas Challenge week will be worth £22.50 towards achieving our target. A £100 donation would raise an incredible £225.
