Ordinary people who do extraordinary things
Unsung Heroes of the Wakefield District
Community Foundation for Wakefield District in association with the Wakefield Express & Ridings FM.
We are looking for people who have made a difference, who have run/organised activities or contributed in one way or another to helping people achieve their potential (or overcome an impediment) – more than they could have done by themselves.
This could include areas such as:
- Mental health
- Creative activities
but they are not exclusive. If you know of someone involved in another activity area, then please nominate them.
Nominations must be submitted by 5pm on Friday 1 March 2019.
If short-listed, Nominees must also:
- Be available to attend the Awards Evening on Friday 17 May 2019
- Be prepared to take part in the production of a short video about their volunteering, to be shown at part of the Awards Evening. Filming will take place on dates/locations in Wakefield District - to be agreed with the nominee - during March/early April 2019
Be part of something special
Unsung Hero Awards 2019
After the phenomenal success of our previous Unsung Heroes Awards we are pleased to announce that this year’s awards will be held on Friday 17th May 2019 at Cedar Court Hotel, Wakefield.
We are hoping to top last year’s emotional event when we were able to recognise 10 people who gave their time voluntarily to help others. They came from all corners of our District and dealt with all manner of issues and we expect to hear further tear jerking stories again this year of ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
This is your opportunity to thank them for their efforts and to show your commitment to making our district a better place to be and do business in.
Check out photos from last years Unsung Heroes Awards.
Further tickets will be available as follows – 2 at half-price (£30) with any further tickets being charged at the full price of £60.
